Alluvial soil is a fine-grained fertile soil deposited by water flowing over flood plains or in river beds. Old alluvial soil is called Bangar and they are less fertile. On the other hand, new alluvial soil is called Khadar and they are more fertile. Khadar soils are found in the low areas of the valley which are flooded every year. On the other hand, Bhangar soils are found in higher reaches where flood water cannot reach.
