In Article 300A of the Indian Constitution, the Right to Property is mentioned. In India, prior to the enactment of the Constitution (44th Amendment) Act, 1978, Article the guaranteed to the people of India the fundamental right to property. The object behind the (44th Amendment) Act, 1978, was to reduce the right to property from the status of fundamental right to that of a legal right. This right to property secured under Article 300-A, will be available against the executive interference and not against the legislative action.
