In the financial year 2018-19, West Bengal was the largest raw jute producing state in India because of its climatic condition. West Bengal produces about 65% of the country's jute. The main jute growing districts in West Bengal are Cooch Behar, Nadia, Bardhaman, Murshidabad and North Dinajpur.West Bengal is followed by Bihar, Assam, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura and Meghalaya.
