Coil side inside the slots takes active part of armature electric circuit in emf generation. Conductors are placed in to the slots. When armature is rotate in magnetic field line due to which an emf is induced in the conductor. The magnitude of this induced emf depends upon the rate of change of flux linkage with conductor.
