Tetanus:
Caused by bacteria Clostridium tetani, tetanus is a bacterial disease that mainly affects the jaw and abdomen.
The bacteria enter the body through a wound and produce toxins which cause the muscles to become tight.
It is also called "lockjaw" as the tightness of muscles in the jaw and neck causes them to lock making it hard to swallow or open mouth.
Leprosy:
A chronic infectious disease, leprosy is caused by bacteria, Mycobacterium leprae. It is also called Hansen's disease.
This condition mainly affects the skin causing pale sores, bumps, and lumps on the skin. It also affects the peripheral nerves, eyes, and the mucosal linings of the respiratory system.
Malaria:
Malaria is a disease caused by a parasite of the Plasmodium group which are protozoa.
Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, Plasmodium malaria, Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium knowlesi are the five species known to cause the infection.
It is a disease transmitted by female Anopheles mosquito and causes fever, headaches, vomiting and in severe cases can lead to seizures, coma, and even death.
