Question : 45
Total: 100
The monthly income of A and B are Rs. 12000 and Rs 8000 respectively. The ratio of their monthly expenditures is 5 : 3. If they save an equal amount per month, then how much money does each of them save per month?
Rs. 1000
Rs. 2000
Rs. 800
Rs. 1500
Validate
Solution:
Let the monthly expenditures A and B be 5x and 3x.
⇒ Saving of A = Saving of B
⇒ 12000 - 5x = 8000 - 3x
⇒ 2x = 4000
⇒ x = 2000
⇒ Now saving of A = 12000 - 5x = 12000 - 10000 = Rs. 2000
⇒ Now saving of B = Rs. 2000
∴ A and B save Rs. 2000 per month.
