Union Government aims to achieve the objective of Housing for All by 2022 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen.
A total of over 1 crore 50 lakh rural houses have been completed in the last five years.
The eligible beneficiaries will get 1 crore 95 lakh houses in the second phase of the scheme. The government has set a target of 60 lakh houses for the current financial year.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) has been devised in line with the Government’s commitment to providing ‘Housing for All’ by 2022 in the rural areas.
The scheme aims at providing a pucca house with basic amenities to all houseless householder living in kutcha and dilapidated houses by 2022.
