The only floating park in the World, Keibul Lamjao National Park, is situated in Bishnupur District of Manipur state in India.
The park is situated in a forested wetland with a floating mass of vegetation created by the cumulation of organic garbage and biomass.
Approximately 70% of the Park is made up of Phumdis(series of floating Islands) exclusive to the Loktak lake in Manipur State.
It was established on 28th March 1977 with an area covering 40 km2 and It is maintained by the Government of India & Government of Manipur.
The Fauna of this park includes Brow-Antlered deer, Hog deer, Wild boar, Large Indian civet, Asian golden cat, Bamboo rat, Flying fox and various other Fishes & Amphibians.
