⇒ x + y = 60

Substituting y in the equation 2,
4x + 2(60 - x) = 190
4x + 120 - 2x = 190
2x + 120 = 190

2x = 70
x = 35
Substituting x in equation 1,
y = 60 - x
= 60 - 35
= 25
So, number of lions = 35
Number of peacocks = 25
