There are a lot of hill stations in India but whenever one thinks of the most beautiful among them, one thinks of Kashmir. Kashmir is a beautiful valley having mountains on all the sides. It has visitors from within the country and abroad all year round. It has Jhelum river flowing into it, making it even more charming. It used to be the summer residence of the Mughals and was called 'Garden of Eternal Spring'. One can see roses and saffron grow for miles and miles. A special perfume called 'Ittar' is made from them. The goats of Kashmir give hair for the costly Pashmina shawls famous all over. Forests are allover the valley and the fruit trees are laden with delicious and juicy apples, peaches, strawberries, cherries, almonds and walnuts. The fruit gardens are an additional attraction for the tourists, who come every year during summer. The ancient architecture of Mughals is visible in the world famous mosque of 'Hazrat-e-Shahi'. Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir, is famous for Dal Lake and the houseboats. Other places of tourist attraction include the famous resort of Gulmarg for skiing, Pahalgam and Sonmarg. The famous Hindu shrine of Amarnath is also a part of Kashmir.
