Essentialism is the view that for any specific entity there is a set of attributes which are necessary to its identity and function. Feminism observes gender in terms of power, in faceto-face interaction as well as within a social structure. Realism rejects imaginative idealization and favours the accurate and detailed depiction of nature or of contemporary life without any enrichment. The deep ecology perspective recognises the inherent value of all living beings and uses this view in shaping environmental policies.
